The Ritual of Writing

The Writing Box is the first artist piece in The Ritual Collection .

An act of deepening connection to one’s emotions and intellect. A place to slow time, reflect, express gratitude and create peace. Letter writing is a meaningful practice of thoughtful expression, clear intention, an exchange of ideas and a dedication of focused time to be shared with another or as a personal diary. 

The objects included in the Ritual Collection reflect Kim's continued exploration into old world, handcrafted and personalized objects and have been designed to preserve our histories.

Each urushi coated box is hand crafted by artisans in Yamanaka Onsen in the Ishikawa Prefecture of Japan and houses customized letter pressed stationery, envelopes, a solid sterling and onyx matchbox holder, Kim Dunham Jewelry branded matches, sealing wax and bound together by a handwoven Japanese kumihimo cord.

All pieces are made by hand in Japan and New York City.

This piece is made to order, please allow 4-5 months for its creation.
